Fast or slow weight loss, which is better? And does it matter?

Slow weight loss has for years been believed to be better for long-term results as it’s seen as more of a ‘lifestyle change’, with the slower pace helping you maintain the habit for life.

The key disadvantage, however, is the sheer amount of time it takes to see results, often meaning people fall off the wagon before they get anywhere near their goal. Another is the loss of muscle mass as a result of quickly losing weight; something which can be detrimental especially if you are a yo-yo dieter and end up putting the fat mass back on, too.

Motivation is a huge part of the journey. This can come from seeing instant results from your efforts, both in terms of on the scales and in the form of compliments from friends noticing a change in your physique.

This means rapid BUT healthy weight loss is the goal. Does that exist? Yes, it does. At Alevere, we are proud to offer a doctor-approved and medically supported solution which has helped thousands of patients across the UK over the last 15 years. We can accurately predict how much weight you’ll lose by when, keeping you on track and motivated. This typically looks like a loss of 4 stone (in men) and 3 stone (women) in just 12 weeks.

What about the excess skin left behind from this rapid weight loss, you ask? Don’t worry, we’ve got that covered, too. Our body shaping and skin tightening treatments help you get your body back.

Whatever your views on slow or rapid weight loss it is definitely important to remember that they are both lifestyle changes. Whether you decide a rapid or slow weight loss is best for you, as long as you keep up with a healthy lifestyle once you have reached your goal weight then you should be able to maintain your weight loss.

Lost 5st 4lbs
in 12 weeks

Best thing since a slice of cake.! After seeing a picture of myself at Christmas 2015, l decided to do something so l took the plunge and phoned Alevere.  Hard bit done, the diet is simple, follow it as advised, and watch the pounds fall off, and they literally did.  The hardest thing is walking through the doors, but remember everyone there is in your shoes. I feel 21 again.
