Tomato Sauce

Recipe inspiration, whatever the occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 large tomatoes (the riper the better) *
  • 1 red pepper *
  • 1 carrot *
  • 1 celery stalk
  • a large handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • dried mixed herbs
  • salt
  • pepper

*- limited to 200g max a day in total (please refer to limited list)

Method

  1. Start by chopping the veg – the carrot needs to be peeled and chopped in half before slicing it
  2. Chop the celery into fine slices
  3. Chop the tomatoes into quarters
  4. De-seed a Pepper and chop into bite-sized chunks
  5. Place all the veg with the basil leaves into a saucepan
  6. Add the olive oil, salt and pepper.
  7. Put the lid on the pan and allow everything to simmer for about 20 minutes – until all the veg and soft and mushing together nicely
  8. Once this has happened add the apple cider vinegar, before placing everything into a blender.
  9. Blend for a minute or so until a smooth sauce forms.

Best thing since a slice of cake.! After seeing a picture of myself at Christmas 2015, l decided to do something so l took the plunge and phoned Alevere.  Hard bit done, the diet is simple, follow it as advised, and watch the pounds fall off, and they literally did.  The hardest thing is walking through the doors, but remember everyone there is in your shoes. I feel 21 again.
